Can seaweed and kelp in feed for ruminants both reduce methane emissions and at the same time be a good substitute for soy meal? Prabhat Khanal, associate professor at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Aquaculture at Nord University, Department of Steinkjer, has looked into this in the dairy barn at Mære. The preliminary results from the experiment are promising.
